Folk singer, songwriter Sara Thomsen shares her life story in song. Her music ranges from sentimental and smooth to fun and quirky. Sara and Harmony Works entertain, energize and engage the audience. She ranks at the top as one of northern Wisconsin's finest artists.

Her song, "A Woman's Place," won a Top Finalist award in the Midwest regional round of the 2008 Mountain Stage New Song Contest. Sing Out! Magazine published the music and lyrics to "A Woman's Place" in the 2008 summer issue. "A Woman's Place" and the song "I Remember These" won a Top Finalist award in the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua's 2008 Songwriting Competition. Sara won the Minnesota Folk Festival's New Folk Songwriting Contest in 2002 for "Irene Marguerite" and "Keepin' the Peace," off the CD By Breath (2003). "Is It For Freedom," off Fertile Ground (1999), won a Top Finalist award in the national Music To Life Contest (2001), created by Noel Paul Stookey of "Peter, Paul and Mary" to recognize songs of sociopolitical concern. The song's impact on listeners has enlarged Sara's audience nationally and internationally.

SPECIAL NIGHT, SPECIAL CONCERT! Get in the groove for the holiday weekend with a celebration as only Mary & The Mudcats can provide. This group, comprised of members of other popular bands, performs together periodically to "just have fun." They can be described as a blues band with a smattering of country, a slight touch of rock and a splash of R & B. Their sound ranges from raw and raucous to sensitive and sensual.

Dave Bennett exhibits a rare and thrilling musical gift. This twenty-five year old has been called a "prodigy." His band will be performing a tribute to Benny Goodman. Several members of Goodman's original band members have endorsed Bennett's talent on the clarinet as "the closest ever" to the Goodman," King of Swing," sound and style. The
all-star septet includes; Carol McCartney providing the vocals, Paul Keller playing bass, Peter Siers on drums, Hugh Leal on acoustic guitar, Bill Meyer playing keyboard and percussionist Matt Hoffman on the vibraphone. The program will include "Swing Jazz," "Body & Soul," "I've Got Rhythm," "Poor Butterfly," "Swing, Swing, Swing," "Stompin' in the Savoy" and many other favorites. Join the celebration as we observe the 100th anniversary of Benny Goodman's birth!

Jared, Mark, Shawn & Greg comprise the four-man a cappella sensation, Tonic Sol-fa. They have released six CDs and sold over 1,000,000 albums since the group was formed twelve years ago. The latest album is titled, On Top of the World. In 2008, their Christmas special was aired on Public Television worldwide. Tonic Sol-fa's original songs, arrangements and albums have won numerous contemporary a cappella awards for best pop album and gospel song. The New York Times described Tonic Sol-fa's sound as "A vocal kaleidoscope...unique to the human voice."

Monroe Crossing is considered the "Midwest's premier Bluegrass and Gospel quintet." The band is named in honor of Bill Monroe, the "Father of Bluegrass." Their performance is choreographed around a single microphone in a likeness of old time radio. Monroe Crossing was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2007 adding to their list of prestigious awards. They were an International Bluegrass Music Association showcase band at the World of Bluegrass Convention in Nashville.

Your friends will be here, all 2,000 of them. This is your music, performed your way! The Whitesidewalls have generated a huge Music in the Park following. Music Director Lauren McArthur plays keyboards, guitar, flute, piccolo, saxophone, percussion and performs vocals; Dan "Ducktail' Elliot drums and vocal, Alan Miller on guitar, and Michael Fischel guitar and vocals. Dawn McArthur's vocals with the band's memorable rhythms will send you careening back in time.

The season's finale will be highlighted with authentic Dixieland Jazz. The versatility of each of this six-member band is evident in a performance that is fun and fanciful. The band leader Dick Peterson plays banjo and guitar, Russ Peterson trumpet, trombone, clarinet, saxophone, bass and vocals; Steve Pikal plays bass and trombone, Dick Ramberg clarinet and keyboard, Tom Andrews performing on drums and clarinet, and Jim ten Bensel trombone, coronet plus vocals. Barbary Coast has been inducted into the Minnesota Hall of Fame for their remarkable achievements. Their show is filled with variety, comedy and always presented with much enthusiasm
