We rely on your help.

LWPAC is a non-profit corporation. The staff is primarily volunteer. It is the goal of the center to reach out to those who are traditional concert-goers as well as those who have not had such an experience in the past. Artists booked for the concerts are long-standing professional musicians. Prices of concert tickets are kept as low as possible so that all may attend. Children 12 years and under are admission free.

Your generous, tax deductible donations allow Lucius Woods Performing Arts Center to provide an outreach promoting the arts and arts enrichment for both children and adults.

'BRING BACK THE SYMPHONY'
THE FINANCIAL GOAL TO BRING  THE SYMPHONY BACK TO THE PARK IN 2010 WAS NOT MET. FUNDRAISING WILL CONTINUE FOR THE 2011 CONCERT SEASON

Lucius Woods Performing Arts Center has a long, rich history with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. The concert shell was constructed to accommodate symphony orchestras by both design and size. The Symphony did not perform at Music in the Park in 2009 and 2010 due to the rising cost of producing that concert. The DSSO is comprised of music professionals who are members of the Musician's Union. There are also a number of other costs related to the production of a symphony concert in addition to the musicians' pay. These costs are also included in the total fee paid to the DSSO. The Symphony merits the asking fee, however; those costs have surpassed LWPAC's ability to pay.

Is the Music in the Park performance by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra important to you? Here is how you can help. Each time the DSSO performs at the Park a minimum of an ADDITIONAL $10,000 will need to be raised to assist in covering the cost. These funds cannot be diverted from the regular sponsorships or contributions. They must be completely NEW REVENUES.  The campaign funds will roll over to the next year(s) until the $10,000 amount is achieved. The following is a list of three options to donate to the 'Bring Back the Symphony' campaign:
